Try These False Eyelashes For A Sultry Smoldering Bombshell Stare
If you’ve never given false eyelashes a try, now’s the time to start! They’ll make you look sexier than you ever imagined!
At first, I was sceptical, too. I thought they would be way too much (at best an experiment in grooming that looked over-the-top, and at worst a stage-makeup travesty the likes of Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard.)
But happily that wasn’t the case at all. In fact, they simply filled out my upper lashes giving them a soft enhancement of dark color. The overall effect was something closer to the look of a soft cat-eye, not the long spidery lines I was afraid of.
The key to applying false eyelashes is choosing the correct type for the occasion. There are 4 basic types. Each has their proper use and all of them can make you look show-stoppingly gorgeous!
Type 1: “Permanent” Lashes
Don’t let the name fool you. “Permanent” lashes are not exactly permanent, but they will last you an impressive 4-6 weeks in perfect condition. The great thing about “permanent” lashes is there’s no need to re-apply them daily. They are affixed by a professional strand by strand. Overall, they make your lashes look longer and fuller and are indistinguishable from your natural lashes, blending right in. They look incredibly natural, but the price is a doozy: having these applied can cost you $150 to $400 each month.
Type 2: Full Lash Strip
This is the type you should avoid unless you’re onstage. In the spotlights, more is more. But face to face a full strip of false lashes is usually too much (Although there are always exceptions, of course. Some people can in fact pull off a full set of adhesive lashes, so you should play around with a pair yourself and at least give them a try.)
Type 3: Demi Lashes
These are easy to apply, perfectly shaped, and the all-around ideal choice for daily wear! Demi Lashes are a half set of lashes that fit perfectly at the outer edge of your top lash line. They give the outer edge of your top lashes a big boost, leaving you looking like a true bombshell! Just take them out of the package, apply a thin line of adhesive, let adhesive air-dry of about 15 seconds, and then press them to your outer lash line. Easy as that! They’ll stay put all day and are reusable.
Type 4: Individual Lashes
These are small clumps of lashes that can be applied to the lash line one at a time. You can simply apply a dot of adhesive and stick them on like the demi lashes. This type of lash is very very subtle. It doesn’t pack the punch of the others, and takes a great deal of time to apply. Personally, I think they’re much too difficult to apply and have no real advantage over a quick easy set of demi lashes.
So, there you have it! If you’ve never tried false eyelashes grab a pair of demi lashes today and see what you think. (You can find them, plus adhesive, in the cosmetics section of Target or any similar store.)
